OUR HISTORY
Mr. Karl H. Giebmanns, the founder of ITM, began his career in 1969 as a Chief Engineer at Erwin Junker Machine in Nordrach, Germany. Upon immigrating to the United States, he worked as Plant Manager and Chief Engineer for the U.S. Division of Hertlein. In 1981, Mr. Giebmanns, armed with many innovative ideas, and an eagerness to design and manufacture his own line of the grinding machines, established ITM in Westport, Connecticut. ITM was founded with the purpose of supplying application driven, high value, production grinding machines to a worldwide customer base.
In 1992, in order to meet the demands of an expanding customer base of major manufacturers in cutting tool, medical and automotive industries, ITM moved its design and manufacturing to a new, larger facility in Palm Coast, Florida.
Today, infused with funding from Florida Grinding Group, ITM continues to design machines, develop software, assemble components and install all the machine electronics at the Palm Coast facility. All machine components are from top tier OEM vendors in the United States, Germany, and Japan. With a strong focus on grinding technology, ITM‘s success is a result of the accumulated grinding knowledge gained by ITM personnel through exposure to a wide variety of diverse industrial markets and grinding applications. ITM offers turn-key solutions with the most productive and cost-effective grinding and coolant filtration systems.
